EIGHT COUNT TERMS & CONDITIONS
Welcome to Eight Count. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they set out your rights and obligations when training with us and using our facilities. By signing up as a member, booking a class, or entering our studio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Eight Count reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, with reasonable notice provided to members where possible. Your continued use of Eight Count services after any changes are made constitutes acceptance of those changes.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CODE OF CONDUCT
Respect for our space, our team, and each other is a fundamental part of training at Eight Count. We strive to maintain an inclusive, safe, and motivating environment, and we expect all members to act in a way that supports this ethos.
Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be used respectfully within the space. We prioritise the privacy, comfort, and safety of all our members. Taking photos or videos of other individuals without their clear consent is a breach of our terms and conditions. If you wish to record content before, during, or after a session, you must obtain the consent of anyone who may appear in the background.
Aggressive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour toward staff or other members will not be tolerated and may result in immediate suspension or cancellation of membership.
CLASS BOOKINGS, CANCELLATIONS AND ATTENDANCE
Booking in for classes is essential to secure your place, as numbers are limited. At this time, there are no penalties for cancelling a class late or failing to attend a booked session. However, Eight Count monitors attendance closely, and reserves the right to introduce cancellation or no-show fees in the future if required. Any changes to our booking policy will be communicated clearly to all members with reasonable notice.
Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may affect your ability to book classes if a future booking policy is introduced.
PREGNANCY POLICY
If you are pregnant, please notify the Eight Count team prior to participating in any classes. Modifications to training can be provided where appropriate, however, use of the Recovery Studio, including infrared saunas and ice baths, is not permitted during pregnancy for safety reasons.
MEMBERSHIPS & PAYMENTS
Membership at Eight Count provides access to a range of classes, open gym, and recovery facilities depending on your chosen tier. All memberships are billed weekly to your nominated account or card. By signing up, you authorise Eight Count to debit this amount at the agreed intervals.
For members who join using a special or introductory offer, please note: if you cancel your membership and decide to return at a later date, you will not be eligible to claim the same offer again. Instead, you will be charged at the current full “All Access” membership rate at the time of rejoining.
Memberships at Eight Count are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your contact information and payment details up to date at all times. If your payment is missed or dishonoured, additional fees may be charged, and continued missed payments may result in suspension or cancellation of your membership.
We do not require a minimum commitment period and do not offer a 1-month unlimited membership option.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email or in person, with a minimum of seven (7) days' notice prior to your next billing date. If sufficient notice is not provided, further fees may be incurred. Memberships are not transferable or refundable.
LIABILITY
Participation in training and recovery services at Eight Count is voluntary and undertaken at your own risk. We strongly recommend that members disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or other factors that may affect their ability to train or recover safely. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically and physically able to participate in all training and recovery activities.
Eight Count accepts no responsibility for any injury, illness, or health issue that may arise during or after participation, except where required by law. Members must take full responsibility for their own physical condition and agree to follow all safety instructions provided by our coaches and staff.
This waiver also applies to the use of our Recovery Studio, which carries additional risks and responsibilities outlined separately below.
By participating in Eight Count classes, open gym sessions, or using the Recovery Studio facilities, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept all associated risks.
RECOVERY STUDIO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK
By entering the Recovery Studio, members acknowledge that the use of infrared sauna, ice baths, and compression therapy involves specific physical risks. These may include, but are not limited to: dehydration, dizziness, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, cold shock, hypothermia, numbness, circulatory complications, or nerve irritation.
Members use these facilities voluntarily and at their own risk. Eight Count staff are available to assist but are not responsible for individual health outcomes resulting from improper use.
HEALTH SCREENING
Before first use, members must complete a health questionnaire disclosing any relevant medical history, including cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, neuropathy, previous cold- or heat-related injuries, pregnancy, or implanted devices such as pacemakers.
If any of these conditions apply, a written clearance from a medical professional is required before access to the Recovery Studio is granted.
SAFE-USE GUIDELINES
Infrared Sauna
Sessions are limited to 30 minutes. Members must remain hydrated before, during, and after use. Those feeling dizzy, nauseous, or unwell should exit the sauna immediately. Use is restricted to those in swimwear or a clean towel, and a shower is required beforehand.
Ice Baths
Water temperatures will be maintained between 4°C and 15°C. Sessions should not exceed 10 minutes. Anyone experiencing shivering, numbness, or difficulty breathing must discontinue immediately. Ice baths must not be used alone, either staff supervision or a training partner must be present.
Compression Therapy
Sessions are capped at 20 minutes. Pressure levels must remain within the manufacturer’s recommended PSI. Use should be stopped if pain, tingling, or numbness occurs.
Waiver & Indemnity
By using the Recovery Studio, members acknowledge and accept responsibility for their own health and safety. Eight Count, including its owners, staff, and affiliates, is not liable for any injuries, conditions, or losses that may occur through the use of recovery facilities, except where required by law.
Members also agree to cover any costs or claims made by third parties that arise from their use of the sauna, ice bath, or compression therapy equipment.
